The Doggei (singular Doggeid) are certainly the most reclusive of the major species. Early in their history they developed an interstellar empire without managing to meet any other sentient species, but upon encountering some of the other powers of the galaxy the Doggei withdrew back into their existing empire, maintaining a notorious isolation built around shooting first and asking questions later. However, when news of the Galactic War reached Doggeid space, the reclusive aliens had little choice but to join the war against the Twis'rin out of respect for their own survival. After the victory, the Doggei did their best to once again withdraw, however, the newly-linked-together galaxy of faster-than-light travel has forced the Doggei into the open, even if the only objective they're interested in is their own survival.
