If you're new to From the Cradle, the theme and environment of an original science fiction universe can seem a little intimidating. Don't worry. Although the Corporate Expanse theme is both broad and deep, it's also been specifically designed to be easy to get into.

Other articles as well as the From the Cradle website at http://www.corpexpanse.com/cradle contain further information, but in general a look at the summary and maybe a few intelligent questions should allow you to create a perfectly acceptable human and get out on the grid. Further thematic exploration can always wait for you to get used to the world.

Unlike many MUSHes, Corporate Expanse: From the Cradle features a deliberately lightweight character creation process. You'll be asked to write a description, set some basic biographical details like a full name, species, and date of birth, set your statistics, then write a brief character concept. The concept need be only a paragraph long and say what you think your character might be doing on the grid. It may be vague and it is not set in stone; if when you start RPing you may find that it's no longer what you want to do and changes are encouraged if necessary.
