Epsilon Indi

Class: K V (orange dwarf)
Satellite stars: two
Planets: eleven
Inhabited planets: one

Epsilon Indi is a main sequence K V-class star, visible from Earth in the constellation of Indus near the bowl of the Big Dipper. Located approximately twelve light years away from Sol, Epsilon Indi was one of the first stars surveyed by the Humans once they gained interstellar travel.

The star system is most frequently accessed via the Alpha Centauri? jump gate, which in turn leads to Sol. This two-jump journey takes a bit less than one week and is the route taken for virtually all human passengers and freight. No other jump gates have yet been constructioned near Epsilon Indi, although access from several other systems via Alpha Centauri is possible.

The third planet in the Epsilon Indi system, Epsilon Indi III, is home to the Human colony of Persephone.
