Inspector John Brody is an inspector, the highest rank of field officer, in the Persephone Colonial Police.
Born in Rio de Janiero as the son of European immigrants, Brody emigrated to the Blessed Mexican Empire as a young adult and soon joined the Mexican national guardia civil. Proud, not a little haughty, and rapidly jaded by his experiences in the brutal Mexican regime, Brody was regardless never dehumanised by his time there, and gained a reputation as an officer of character and integrity.
Securing a transfer to Persephone in 2744, Brody was made a sergeant in the Colonial Police upon his arrival and rapidly promoted to inspector in 2746. Unlike most Persephone cops, Brody has a reputation for efficiency rather than unfairness and brusqueness rather than hostility, and he is one of the few senior officers to enjoy a generally good reputation. However, he's also not afraid to crack a few skulls when necessary, and it has been alleged that his tactics tend towards the extreme.
It was a mark of the Police's confidence in Brody that they picked him to lead a patrolling squad in Persephone's busy Central Hub? on October 16, 2748, the day after a bloody shootout between police and the military in the Blue Balorim?. Brody was the senior officer when Lieutenant-Colonel Jean Valliere rode up in force to imprison Brody and his squad.
