The first colony ever established outside a species's home star system and the most populous non-home planet to any species in the galaxy, Pekka II is a large, predominantly aquatic world located in the Pekka? system.
When the Twis'rin found the Pekka system in the Earth year 244, the planet's few landmasses were inhabited by a species known only as the Pekkanese, a pre-industrial sentient civilisation. Little is known about these natives, as the Twis'rin destroyed their civilisation from orbit using nuclear weapons before colonising the ocean depths, safe from the radiation and fallout.
As is traditional with the Twis'rin, the landmasses have been largely unmolested since colonisation, and as a result a few foreign archaeological expeditions have turned up a few fragments of Pekkanese artifacts, particularly on the largest island of Bertraum. The Twis'rin tend to discourage these digs, however, believing the genocide of the Pekkanese is something that should be left to the past.
Pekka II is a strong part of the Twis'rin economic base, as despite being low on native resources over two thousand years of inhabitation have left it with a strong industrial core. It is also a major food exporter, as its rich oceans are ideal for farming the sort of kelp the Twis'rin and Captab thrive off of.
